“You’re my pretty little Galway girl…”
Last Saturday we finally paid a visit to Galway!
This trip made my week, due to the fact that Galway is a lovely little city. Although it was raining for the entire bus journey, when we got off the bus, the view over the sea to the little hills at the edge of it was absolutely stunning. The sun’s light had just started to break through the clouds and it made the countryside look like a beautiful painting!
The first attraction we visited was the aquarium, where a funny guide (he seemed to be so Irish!) taught us a few things about seastars, all different sorts of crabs and other fish. The highlights were holding the seastars and little crabs in our hands, as well as feeding the fish with bread! It was a scary but also cute thing to do…and when we left the aquarium our hands were covered in fish kisses.
The next thing we did was eat fish and chips in McDonaghs, although it wasn’t the best fish I’ve ever eaten, the pub was really lovely.
Finally, we had some time to discover the city on our own, and we saw some amazing street bands playing. The best thing about the day was eating a lovely cone of white chocolate ice-cream.
I definitely want to go back to this city! think there are still a lot of things that can be discovered.
